Train: We've all got bruises...(Five on Friday link up!)

Today, since we have had an insane week and I didn't get to posting another blog, I am linking up to Five for Friday again to share some of my week with everyone :)

ONE

Things that are NOT fun: Hand, Foot & Mouth disease in a toddler. We thought she had the chicken pox, but it turns out that HF&M is also very contagious, so she stayed home from the babysitter's almost all week & had a few miserable moments. It can be difficult to balance 2 full time jobs & a sick kiddo. She did discover a new obsession with her bus and train though:

Cute, right? I got to spend the day working from home with her on Wednesday, and it was great. She played and played and was the happiest little bee I've ever seen. She was adorable, and it was good for my soul.

TWO

Wii Sports & Resort Sports - my husband and I have played these games for the past few nights after seemingly running out of stuff to watch on TV. I beat him at Boxing which was FUN!!! I'm not so great at tennis and I need some work on golf though. Good for a bit of an extra workout, and some bonding time. I was being a bad loser last night though so today I googled some tips to get better at Wii Boxing (so that I can dominate in that) and Wii Tennis (I am a complete failure). THREE

Rain all week meant NO ultimate frisbee last night, which was a super bummer! I was looking forward to it, but after all of the juggling with M all week, it was nice to just go home and not worry about leaving her with Brian's parents. RAIN, RAIN, go away though! I have a band concert outdoors tomorrow and we'd like to enjoy Father's Day a bit too!!

FOUR

I have the best father in the world, and I miss him very much (he is on the other side of the country). I wish I could spend Father's Day with him. I also have an amazing husband who is a natural father. He is unbelievably patient with our daughter and it warms my heart to hear her giggling with him or see them playing together. She is a Daddy's girl in many ways. We got my dad a FitBit for Father's Day and I hope he likes it!! This is the one we got, via Amazon.ca:



For Father's Day, all my hubby wants is to go golfing, so that's what he's up to on Sunday. We're also going to make him a nice breakfast and let him sleep in a bit!!

FIVE

Tonight, I'm meeting up with some friends for a friend's birthday!! It will be fun, but I'm not drinking and they will be. MEH! (Gotta drive home!!) It will be fun nonethless though, and I'm looking forward to catching up with people. This will be my second social event with friends THIS WEEK. GO Heather! haha.

PS - 

Started 12th of Never by James Patterson this week, the newest addition to the Women's Murder Club books. I've heard that it is not as good as the first couple in the series...but I needed a book to read and it was on hold at the library for me so I'll share an update when I'm done. I need to get back into having a book on the go. I've been delving into some non-fiction (parenting, gardening, health, DIY) books lately, but I miss escaping into a solid fiction book now and then.

By the way, today's song title is a new-ish song by Train that I can't get out of my head. I'm not sure how I feel about the lyrics, but I'm a sucker for a good male/female duet song (a la Sheryl Crowe & Kid Rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMiSZzHvBeM).

Well that's it for this Friday - I have some fun recipes & workouts to share next week IF/WHEN I get some more time. I am getting better at time management though, I promise! XO
